The all new redesigned 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee will hit showrooms this fall.  The new design sits on a Mercedes-Benz M Class chassis and shares elements of design with an emphasis on luxury. With the all-new flex-fuel Pentastar V-6 engine the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is capable of running on ethanol-blended fuel providing greater fuel economy than before.  The interior features soft touch, premium materials including genuine wood trim, on some models, and all with chrome accents.  The all-new CommandView sunroof allows all passengers a view of above with fixed panels above both rows of seating, standard on certain models. The larger interior space provides more leg room for all passengers as well as more cargo room. 

In the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, many safety features are standard, some optional, including Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Anti-lock Brake System with rough road detection, Brake Traction Control System, Trailer-Sway Control, Blind-spot/Rear Cross-path detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning System and air bags throughout.  Other luxury options include FloTV, Satelite TV, and U-connect Mutimedia suite which includes navigation with real-time traffic alerts, bluetooth connectivity, 30-gigabyte hard drive for storing music, and internet connectivity.  The Chrysler Group LLC will introduce a new feature the all-new Uconnect Guardian in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Uconnect Guardian, a wireless customer security assistance feature, provides the top-five requested security functions, including automatic crash notification, emergency calling, road-side assistance calling, remote door unlock and stolen vehicle location assistance. One year of service is included. Note: Appropriate operation of Uconnect Guardian is dependent on a cellular signal.

The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available in 3 trim levels: Laredo (base), Limited (mid-level) and Overland (top-end.) 

The Laredo model will be the first to use the new Phoenix V-6 engine family with a 3.6L 280-horsepower unit with standard features including 17-inch wheels, a six-speaker stereo with CD player, satellite radio, steering wheel controls, two-row curtain airbags, key-less entry and starting, tilting and telescoping steering wheel, and an eight-way power adjustable driver seat.  . 

A 5.7L Hemi V-8 360 horsepower engine will also be offered as a package and includes 18-inch wheels, adds 3 more speakers for a total of nine, automatic climate control, leather seats, heated front seats, rear view camera, power control for the front passenger seat, and Bluetooth connectivity.  The Hemi engine option will be available across the board.

In 4x4 options, Selec-Terrain traction control coordinates up to 12 powertrain, braking and suspensions systems.  The traction control options include choosing between Sand/Mud, Sport, Snow and Rock traction options.

The Limited will include xenon headlights with Chrysler's "Smartbeam" autodimming system, unique daytime running lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated leather seats, memory settings, CommandView sunroof, rear back up camera, rear park assist, automatic temperature control, 18-inch wheels, and Garmin Navigation. 

The Overland Models will have a premium interior package featuring a leather wrapped steering wheel, console panel, and instrument panel, a new look for the Grand Cherokee.  The Overland model will also include 20-inch wheels, navigation with Sirius Travel Link, a power hatch, Quadra-lift air suspension, real wood trim and ventilated front seats.  The Quadra-Lift air suspension system operates four-corner air springs automatically or with console controls in reach of the driver. The air suspension system has five height settings normal, off-road 1, off-road 2, park mode, and areo mode.

The newly designed 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with more modern and clean styling without losing it's rugged characteristic features.  The more sculpted body is be a nice addition to the new sophisticated Chrysler family.  The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is designed with enhanced safety and security with over 45 features earning a 2010 IIHS Top Safety Pick.
