What is the difference between the trim levels?

With seven available trims, each Ram 1500 has its own uniquely themed interior. The Rebel model has bold colors and precise angles while the Laramie Longhorn has a high-zoot Western interior. On most models, you can choose the length of the truck bed for up to 6 feet, 4 inches of space. The base Tradesman model comes with a 5-inch touchscreen with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, trailer sway damping, push-button start, and a six-speaker stereo. The HFE adds efficiency and a different appearance package with optional features such as low-rolling-resistance tires, side steps, a carpeted floor, bucket front seats, and other features. The BigHorn and Lone Star variant comes with foglights, a 60/40 split rear seat, and an optional 8.4-inch or unique 12-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The Rebel is the 1500's off-road model with four skid plates and an electronic locking rear axle. The Longhorn comes with premium-leather bucket seats, spray-in bedliner, and leather-wrapped steering wheel while the Limited model adds a short box with chrome trim and four-corner air suspension.

Can you tell me more about the engine options?

The standard engine for the 1500 is a 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with 305-horsepower. There is also a 5.7-liter V8 engine capable of 395-horsepower with variable valve timing and cylinder deactivation. Ram also offers an eTorque system, which is standard for the V6 and optional for the V8; this system replaces the alternator with a motor-generator that stores energy and adds power for acceleration, adding up to 90 lb-ft of torque on the V6 engine and 130 on the V8. This mild-hybrid setup controls the engine's start-stop for improved fuel economy with an imperceptible transition from a gasoline engine to an electric motor for smooth handling. The final engine is an all-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel that is rated at 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. The Ram 1500 comes in either a rear- or all-wheel-drive configuration with a new 2-valve Frequency Response Damping Shocks. This gives the 1500 an unmatched smooth ride with responsive steering and agile turning.

Are there any modern safety technologies?

The Ram 1500 comes with a variety of available safety features, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with trailer detection, smart beam headlights, forward collision mitigation, and other features. Safety features are available depending on which 1500 model you have and whether or not you equip a safety group package.
